Key Responsibilities:
- To conduct thorough assessments of children in need, adhering to the Assessment Framework and Working Together guidelines, and ensure timely and robust care planning for children looked after.
- To maintain consistently high standards of practice, prioritizing the needs of children and families.
- To foster strong partnerships with children, families, and carers, ensuring their voices are represented and heard.
- To develop and implement clear care plans that promote the development, well-being, and protection of children.
- To operate within a performance framework, striving to improve personal performance and meet identified development targets.
- To ensure adherence to risk management procedures for significant harm to children, seeking guidance and authorization from managers as needed.
- To conduct care proceedings on behalf of the Service, with appropriate guidance and authorization.
- To prepare high-quality reports and statements for court, case conferences, and looked-after reviews, meeting deadlines and demonstrating involvement of children, families, and carers.
- To represent children, young people, families, carers, groups, individuals, and partner agencies to access services.
- To assist children, young people, families, carers, groups, individuals, and partner agencies in representing their views in all meetings affecting them.
- To perform other duties as defined by the Director of Children Services.
Requirements:
- CQSW, DipSW, BA Social Work, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Knowledge of relevant childcare legislation.
- Ability to travel independently to all required areas.
