Key Responsibilities
The Chief Nursing Officer serves as an executive-level position within the Integrated Care Board (ICB). This role is essential for the successful achievement of the Birmingham & Solihull Integrated Care System (ICS) objectives and reports directly to the Chief Executive.
The successful candidate will work alongside the Chief Medical Officer to lead the ICB Quality Unit, which is responsible for overseeing and supporting the implementation of both national and local quality and safety initiatives. Collaboration with various key teams, local providers, and stakeholders is crucial for success.
In alignment with the ICB's organizational design principles, the Chief Nursing Officer will lead a streamlined team focused on:
- Compliance with statutory requirements for chief nursing roles.
- Quality assurance and improvement.
- Management of continuing healthcare.
- Handling of complaints.
- Promoting equality and diversity.
Candidates must demonstrate their ability to:
