MAG Technology is seeking a visionary leader to spearhead our Data Science and Architecture team.

As the Head of Data Science and Architecture, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction and technical governance of data science initiatives across our organization. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving value from data and enhancing operational performance.

Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Guiding a portfolio of transformative projects exceeding £1.5 million annually.
  • Establishing a comprehensive enterprise-wide approach to harnessing the power of data science.
  • Leading our data science and analytics capabilities to elevate organizational performance across all areas.
  • Integrating data science and analytics into the core governance framework of MAG Technology.
  • Ensuring seamless alignment between business strategies and data science initiatives for maximum impact.
  • Defining clear data science specifications that guide engineering processes and ensure technical excellence.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative data science solutions that address key business challenges.
  • Cultivating strong relationships with suppliers and third-party partners to leverage cutting-edge technologies and expertise.
  • Contributing to the development of our Technology roadmap, ensuring it reflects the latest advancements in data science and aligns with our strategic objectives.

To excel in this role, you will possess:

  • Proven experience in managing data science and analytics for successful IT transformation within large organizations.
  • Extensive knowledge of data, advanced analytics, and best practices in the field of data science.
  • Expertise in data modeling, design, and roadmap development to ensure a cohesive and strategic approach.
  • A strong understanding of cloud computing and experience in re-platforming initiatives for optimal performance and scalability.
  • Proficiency in AWS, including S3 and Redshift, with over 10 years of hands-on experience.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively disseminate technical information to diverse audiences.
  • The ability to articulate the intricate relationship between business functions and IT components for clear understanding across all levels.
  • A track record of staying abreast of emerging technology trends and proactively adopting new technologies to drive innovation.
  • Experience in developing data science transformation strategies that align with overall business goals.
  • The ability to provide guidance to technology leaders and business stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment for success.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on developing high-performing teams that deliver exceptional results.
  • TOGAF certification or equivalent, demonstrating your expertise in enterprise architecture.
  • A degree in a relevant field, coupled with extensive experience working within global organizations.
