About the Role

G2 Legal Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IP Lawyer to join their Commercial Team on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Solicitor with a strong background in Intellectual Property law to take on a key position within the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Trade Mark Clearance: Conduct thorough ident checks, review and analyse external reports, and advise on the inherent registrability of proposition names and commercial appropriateness of protecting trade marks.
  • Trade Mark Opposition and Infringement: Handle trade mark opposition, trade mark infringement, and other soft IP infringement cases, including company names tribunal and domain name disputes.
  • Cease-and-Desist Matters: Deal with cease-and-desist matters internally using pre-drafted precedents and manage external counsel cease and desist activity.
  • Licensing and Brand Oversight: Supervise and support commercial lawyers on all licensing matters, provide support to brand oversight teams on selecting quality controls in proposed relationships, and review and amend existing processes and precedents as required.
  • Annual Brand Audit: Conduct annual brand audits to check ownership of material IP and provide support on the development of internal processes for other business functions where IP has an impact.
Essential Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent) with at least 8 years' Post-Qualified Experience (PQE) in Intellectual Property law.
  • Adaptable and willing to work outside of comfort area and direct areas of expertise.
  • Strong and confident communicator able to communicate with people of all seniority levels.
  • Able to communicate complex IP issues to clients who have little to no IP knowledge or have little time.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Highly organised.
