About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Inspector to join our team at Waterman Aspen. As a key member of our West Midlands team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the structural integrity of our highway assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of highway structures, including general and principal inspections, in accordance with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges.
  • Record and report on all inspections, utilizing the Structures Management System and the CSS Bridge Condition Index system.
  • Interpret defects in construction materials such as steel and concrete, and understand the importance of efficient reporting of urgent and severe defects.
  • Liaise with departments, arrange traffic management, access equipment, and compile task briefing sheets.
Requirements
  • Technical knowledge of bridge structures and construction materials.
  • Experience in Civil Engineering, particularly in inspection and maintenance of highway structures assets.
  • Sound understanding of Health and Safety and CDM 2015.
  • Experience in managing and maintaining trunk or local road networks.
  • Demonstrable experience in a relevant discipline, preferably involving work of a structural or building nature.
  • Full valid UK driving licence.
