Scaffolding Supervisor/Inspector

Our work is essential to enable HS2 trains to travel between London and Birmingham as well as continue their journey up to Manchester. Plus you’d join 9,000 people across 72 nationalities working on this exciting section of HS2 across the region.

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Scaffolding Supervisor/Inspector within the health & Safety Team.

This role will be based on site in Water Orton, The project’s most complex network of structures in the West Midlands, this sublot includes the Delta Junction - a triangular section of the high-speed railway made up of nine precast segmental viaducts, embankments, and other bridging structures, with around 10km of track crossing a network of motorways, roads and rivers.

The Role:
To work in conjunction with the Scaffold Assurance Manager, Site Teams and H&S Teams, to provide verification that required controls are planned, in place and being effectively implemented for scaffolding, (T&F and system scaffolds), including falsework systems such as: RMD modular systems, Doka systems, Peri-up modular, etc.

To review incidents involving persons working at height and the associated lessons learnt, in conjunction with the H&S team and support the implementation of new requirements.

To champion consistency of work at height risk controls as required by procedures and associated Operating Standards and promote improvements and new initiatives appropriate to the area of delivery.

You will need:
Qualifications:

- Advanced Scaffolder and Advanced Scaffold Inspector, CISRS accredited.
- Scaffold System Product Training Scheme, SSPTS ‘ring’ category
- SMSTS/Scaffold Supervisor a minimum requirement
- Relevant CSCS/CISRS Card
- Full driving licence

Knowledge or/experience in:

- Health and safety legislation, regulations and guidance as it applies to Scaffolding.
- Construction industry experience of advanced scaffolding and inspecting advanced/complex structures.
- Experience of working on major civil engineering or construction projects.
