About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and forward-thinking Highly Specialist Pharmacist to join our team at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Team, you will play a vital role in championing antimicrobial stewardship and promoting best practices in the use of anti-infectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe and effective advanced clinical pharmacy service to the directorate and its wards.
  • Assist the Lead Pharmacist in developing pharmacy services and medicines management within the directorate.
  • Provide non-medical prescribing services to patients and develop and maintain a large portfolio of Patient Group Directions (PGDs) for our Axess sexual health clinics.
  • Identify the clinical and economic impact of medicines use, develop and implement clinical guidelines, monitor drug expenditure, and support the area to meet their clinical and financial targets.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • MPharm or equivalent qualification.
  • Postgraduate clinical qualification.
  • Membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Management qualification.
  • MSc.
  • MRPharmS.
Essential Experience

We require a candidate with:

  • Demonstrable post-registration hospital experience.
  • Delivery of clinical pharmacy services to a broad range of specialties.
  • Effective working within a multidisciplinary clinical team.
  • Evidence of significant, relevant, and ongoing personal Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Desirable Experience

We would welcome a candidate with:

  • Acute Teaching Trust/Tertiary Referral Centre experience.
  • Leading medicine-related protocol development.
  • Leading and supervising audit or practice research projects.
