Contribute significantly to customer solutions
As the Senior Wellhead Services Technical Leader, your primary focus will be on spearheading the planning and execution of operations concerning our subsea wellhead systems (WCS) and TLP systems. You will foster collaboration among various departments, including OTR, Manufacturing, and Workshop, to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services to our clients. In this capacity, you will represent our Subsea Projects & Services division as the Senior Technical Leader, overseeing the installation of our subsea wellhead systems and ensuring that our service delivery aligns with customer expectations. This position reports to the Service Delivery Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA).
As the Senior Technical Leader, your responsibilities will include:
- Taking ownership of resolving post-sales technical customer challenges by managing escalations and utilizing relevant engineering resources.
- Implementing lessons learned, driving the closure of technical investigations, and executing preventive measures.
- Keeping manuals and drawings current to support the installation of all equipment.
- Collaborating with Baker Hughes Global Engineering & Operations teams to seek clarifications and updates on manuals.
- Ensuring field engineers are well-informed on installation practices and providing support to field technicians during troubleshooting.
- Escalating field issues to Global Experts and seeking assistance during job execution to mitigate significant non-productive time (NPT) events.
- Monitoring operations on both rigs and providing field support, including debriefing after each job to capture insights and opportunities.
- Proactively addressing issues, leading investigations, and recommending enhancements to improve tool reliability and operability.
- Maintaining project timelines and actively forecasting and tracking capital equipment, tools, spares, and consumables required for operations.
- Facilitating communication with global shops to obtain updates on manufacturing and logistics.
- Collaborating with Customer Well Engineers to ensure the appropriate equipment is selected, ordered, and delivered on schedule.
- Taking action to expedite equipment that is behind schedule or at risk of delay.
- Coordinating with the workshop to ensure that planned equipment and tools are prepared and inspected promptly before load out.
To excel in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline.
- Extensive experience in Technical Support.
- In-depth knowledge of our product offerings, including Subsea Wellheads & Premium Connectors operations, and/or TLP Systems & Surface Pressure Control Systems.
- A proven track record of troubleshooting equipment and operational failures to restore functionality for our clients.
- Experience as an in-house resource for an operator, preferably with the capacity to provide support to a large international operator.
- Strong communication skills to engage with external stakeholders to deliver solutions and lead troubleshooting efforts in the field.
- Solid interpersonal skills, fostering close collaboration with Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams.
We understand that each individual has unique preferences regarding how they work and perform at their best. In this role, we offer flexible working arrangements in accordance with local and product line policies.
