Job Title: Process/Chemical EngineerJob Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Process/Chemical Engineer to join our team at the South Kirkby Waste Treatment Facility. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day control of the facility, ensuring the safety, compliance, and commercial viability of the plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Drive and support a culture of safety excellence, ensuring the health and safety of yourself and your colleagues.
  2. Coordinate and collaborate with operational colleagues to oversee the day-to-day technical and process requirements of the facility.
  3. Set control limits and charts for all key performance parameters and ensure these are met.
  4. Ensure the quality of plant outputs are achieved, providing solutions to technical variances.
  5. Develop and manage a 'process management system' for the facility, becoming the 'one way of working.'
  6. Develop training and induction material for new and existing colleagues to ensure high operational standards are met.
  7. Train, coach, and develop site staff in all aspects of plant performance.
  8. Regularly report on plant performance, identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities.
  9. Liaise with regulators to ensure compliance of the facility is achieved.
Requirements:
  1. A degree in chemical or process engineering, working towards chartered status.
  2. 3-5 years of experience in a front-line operational role as a process or chemical engineer.
  3. Knowledge of Lean methodologies and experience with their application within a process/operational plant environment.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead, guide, and mentor the onsite team.
  5. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly express technical and engineering matters.
  6. A proactive approach to problem solving, with a well-organised and logical thinking style.
  7. Numerate and appreciative of the importance of accurate operational data collection and analysis.
  8. Honest, reliable, and always behave with integrity.
