Financial Risk and Control Officer

Acorn by Synergie is seeking a highly skilled Financial Risk and Control Officer to join their team in Cardiff and Newport. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive assessments, reviews, and analytical reports in areas such as Treasury, Liquidity, and Interest Rate Risk. They will review financial risk policies and models to provide assurance and improve the effectiveness of controls.

The ideal candidate will have experience in financial risk management, preferably in a Senior Analyst or Senior Associate role, and a qualified accountant with a degree in accountancy, finance, economics, or a related field. They will work closely with colleagues across Financial Risk, Enterprise Risk, Regulatory Reporting, Finance, Treasury, ALM, Credit, and Operations to ensure the Society's strategic objectives are met with robust risk management practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver comprehensive assessments, reviews, and analytical reports in areas such as Treasury, Liquidity, and Interest Rate Risk.
  2. Review financial risk policies and models to provide assurance and improve the effectiveness of controls.
  3. Work closely with colleagues across Financial Risk, Enterprise Risk, Regulatory Reporting, Finance, Treasury, ALM, Credit, and Operations.
