The ideal candidate will possess postgraduate experience and specialized training in musculoskeletal podiatry and high-risk foot care. You will collaborate within a team environment while also being expected to work independently, serving as a key resource of expertise.
Strong time management, communication, and organizational skills are vital. Your responsibilities will include providing specialized input into community musculoskeletal clinics and conducting high-risk home visits. Proficiency in wound evaluation and musculoskeletal management, along with responsiveness to urgent referrals, is essential.
Demonstrating empathy, resilience, a systematic approach, and a problem-solving mindset using your initiative will be crucial to your success.
You will engage with the multidisciplinary team across community and secondary care settings, as well as collaborate with colleagues throughout the organization. We take pride in our robust connections with the acute sector, particularly in diabetes and vascular care. Additionally, you will participate in nail surgery and preventative clinics.
A component of this role involves educating fellow healthcare professionals through presentations and practical workshops focused on the musculoskeletal foot.
Active participation in continuing professional development (CPD) is expected, allowing you to grow alongside your colleagues, including students.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver highly specialized podiatric care in community settings, including clinics, hospitals, health centers, GP practices, residential and nursing homes, as well as patients' residences.
- Provide specialized podiatric services in acute hospital clinics as required.
- Actively engage in presentations, workshops, and educational events alongside other members of the musculoskeletal team.
- Foster strong relationships with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including consultants, general practitioners, practice nurses, and diabetes specialist nurses, as well as other healthcare professionals.
- Conduct undergraduate clinical training regularly.

Qualifications / Training

- BSc degree in Podiatry or equivalent.
- Registered Podiatrist with the Health Care Professions Council.
- Local Anaesthetics Certificate.
- Portfolio demonstrating specialist MSK work with a master's level or equivalent qualification.
Desirable
- Evidence of training in corticosteroid injection therapy or willingness to undertake training.
