About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Physiotherapist to join our team as a Senior Rotational Physiotherapist. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality physiotherapy care to patients with musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in in-patient orthopaedics and MSK out-patients, with experience of respiratory on-call. You will be expected to work on a six-month rotational basis, covering various areas of the hospital, including musculoskeletal outpatients, hydrotherapy, gymnasium rehabilitation, and orthopaedic inpatients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in a rotation scheme, implementing and reviewing clinically effective and evidence-based programmes of physiotherapy care for patients.
  • Perform advanced assessment of patients with diverse and complex presentations, determining a clinical diagnosis and providing effective treatment plans as an autonomous practitioner.
  • Work on a six-month rotational basis, covering various areas of the hospital, including musculoskeletal outpatients, hydrotherapy, gymnasium rehabilitation, and orthopaedic inpatients.
  • Be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of your own work, including the management of your caseload of patients within your area of rotation.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and other professionals to maximise rehabilitation potential and ensure understanding of condition and/or surgery.
  • Take delegated responsibility from the Team Leader, including clinical and managerial duties, and delegate appropriately to junior physiotherapists, students, and assistant staff.
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date documentation in line with departmental and CSP standards.
  • Represent the physiotherapy service and/or individual patients at ward rounds, clinics, and case conferences, liaising with members of the multidisciplinary team regarding patient care and progress.
Person Specification
  • HCPC Registration
  • BSc degree/diploma in Physiotherapy
  • Post-graduate experience in in-patient orthopaedics and MSK out-patients
  • Experience of respiratory on-call
  • Current NHS experience as a qualified physiotherapist
