Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team in Islington, North London. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in our SEND Schools and Mainstream Schools.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and empathetic individual to provide 1:1 and small group support to students with EHCPs who have varying levels of support and learning needs. The successful candidate will have experience supporting children or adults with disabilities and learning difficulties, and will be able to demonstrate learning techniques and encourage high levels of social skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with EHCPs
  • Support students with moderate learning disabilities, Autistic spectrum, social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH)
  • Work with the wider ALS team to create relationships with students that encourages their academic, emotional, and social growth
  • Be able to commit to a full-time role on a long-term basis working Monday to Friday
Requirements:
  • Experience supporting children, adults or the elderly with disabilities and or learning difficulties in a professional or personal capacity
  • Be able to support and encourage high levels of social skills and demonstrate learning techniques
  • Patient, empathetic and supportive
  • Be able to understand the needs of students and provide appropriate support
