LOCATION: Flexible
HOURS: Full Time - 35 hours
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our designated office.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

We are seeking a Technical Team Leader to join our International & CHAPS division.

This team is responsible for managing a significant volume of electronic transactions, including various payment methods. Our group collaborates closely with industry stakeholders and regulatory bodies to ensure the security and efficiency of financial operations. In the Technical Team Leader position, you will be tasked with delivering high-quality, customer-focused software while continuously motivating, mentoring, and guiding your engineering teams. This role requires a blend of deep technical knowledge and a passion for coaching in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, customer-centric solutions and ensure software functionality meets expectations.
  • Act as a champion for engineering practices, advocating for team members and assisting in resolving challenges and obstacles.
  • Utilize modern technologies to enhance agility and efficiency in meeting future demands, delivering compelling solutions for customers and the business.
  • Contribute to the formulation of IT security policies, develop relevant procedures, and oversee their implementation within your area of responsibility.
  • Assess the feasibility and relevance of proposals for complex products and services, refining them as necessary with guidance from senior colleagues.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in the payments sector, with a strong understanding of the associated technology landscape.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving requirements by developing new testing methodologies and strategies for a defined range of products.
  • Experience in providing technical leadership and oversight across multiple teams.
  • Demonstrated responsibility for implementing formal development frameworks while informally mentoring others throughout the organization.
  • Proven ability to inspire delivery while promoting simplicity and fostering trust and confidence.
  • Capability to address risks within current services by investing in security and asset management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong knowledge of payment systems such as Faster Payments and BACS.
  • Familiarity with middleware and integration technologies.
