About the Role

Certain Advantage is seeking a highly skilled IFRS Accounting Specialist to join our client's team on a 12-month contract assignment. As an IFRS Accounting Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the client's finance department in implementing IFRS 9 and IFRS 17.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide IFRS technical accounting advice and guidance to the finance team
  • Develop technical papers and build Excel spreadsheets to perform accounting and modelling calculations
  • Support the transition execution approach and plan, covering opening balances and comparative financial statements
  • Support audit engagement requirements and respond to queries
  • Implement IT solutions, including the General Ledger, IFRS Calculation Engine, and Sub-Ledgers
  • Support the finance function in testing activity, ensuring testing issues are resolved on a timely basis
  • Analyse data inputs/outputs to/from the Calculation Engine and General Ledger, ensuring outputs meet reporting requirements
  • Work closely with stakeholders, including the FRC Delivery Partner, Auditors, and other internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
  • Experience in providing IFRS 9 or IFRS 17 technical accounting advice and guidance
  • Practical IFRS implementation experience
  • Experience building and developing Excel models performing accounting and modelling calculations
  • Experience preparing transition accounts
  • Eligibility to obtain UK SC Clearance
