About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Physiotherapist to join our Neurological Rehabilitation team at Holywell Neurological Inpatient Unit. As a Physiotherapist, you will play a crucial role in the rehabilitation of patients with complex neurological conditions, including stroke and other neurological disorders.

Main Responsibilities
  • Perform physiotherapy assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with neurological presentations.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate positive rehabilitation outcomes and timely discharge planning.
  • Rotate into community-based teams, including the Early Stroke Discharge Team, Neuro Community Team, and Watford General Acute and Hyperacute Stroke Unit.
  • Hold responsibility for your caseload, working with and without direct supervision.
  • Provide clinical supervision for junior staff, students, and support staff.
  • Contribute to evidence-based audit and research projects to inform Physiotherapy practice within the unit.

Requirements
  • Diploma/degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Experience post-registration as a Band 5 Physiotherapist.
  • Experience working in a wide range of clinical areas, including outpatients, neurology, rehabilitation, orthopedics, and respiratory.
  • Skills in assessment and treatment of adults with complex neurological conditions and multi-pathologies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of complex neurological, medical conditions, including multipathologies and falls.
  • Ability to apply core Physiotherapy skills across a range of clinical conditions within a client-centered, goal-setting framework.
  • Knowledge of outcome measures and evidence-based practice.
  • Ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and demonstrate clinical reasoning.
  • Teaching of junior staff/students, peers in inservice training settings.
  • Supervision of assistant/junior staff.
  • Supervision of students.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant RCP, NICE, and CSP guidelines.
