About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team at Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will work on a wide range of mechanical systems, including fluid pumps, diesel engines, air pressure, and hydraulic systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and align new equipment and parts according to engineering and technical drawings
  • Use workshop machinery to complete specific mechanical fittings
  • Work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues
  • Meet the requirements of the company's engineering and technical standards
Requirements
  • Level 3 Mechanical Engineering qualification
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • MOT, vehicle building, and mechanics experience (desirable)
  • Understanding of technical/engineering drawings
  • Marine industry knowledge (desirable)
What We Offer
  • Competitive hourly rate of £18.73
  • 35 hours per week, Monday to Thursday (0730am – 1530pm) and Friday (0730am – 1230pm)
