About the Role

Adecco is seeking an experienced and driven Project Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in the high-end utilities sector. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating innovative and efficient mechanical designs for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical documents, including equipment specifications, schedules, and reports.
  • Conduct pipework sizing calculations for various systems, including LTHW, CHW, HWS, CWS, Steam, Gas, Flue, Compressed Air, and Lube Oil.
  • Perform ductwork sizing calculations and equipment sizing for pumps, PHEs, boilers, CHPs, heat pumps, thermal stores, buffer tanks, calorifiers, fans, AHUs, chillers, and other equipment.
  • Calculate control valve sizing and authority, as well as heat gain/loss calculations and heating/cooling loads and respective profiles.
  • Develop Functional Design Specifications and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards.
Requirements
  • Current experience within the last 10 years in a similar role.
  • CIBSE / IET / IMechE Engineering Council accredited honours degree or an HNC in an applicable discipline with a commitment to continue with higher education and to have achieved or be working towards IEng or CEng status.
  • Experience across different sectors, including Building Services Design, site surveys & inspections, snagging, client & design team meetings.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain engineering solutions.
  • Demonstrate good attention to detail and show pride in the work you produce.
  • Able to work using your own initiative with minimal supervision in the majority of technical aspects of your discipline.
  • Maintain motivation and have a 'Can do attitude' and be forward thinking and passionate about design innovation.
Desirable Skills
  • Able to participate and contribute to HAZOP and LOPA discussions/meetings.
  • Hold a DSEAR assessment.
  • Understanding of PED calculations and documentation.
