Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Lea Marston Hotel. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for assisting in the leadership of a team of 15 team members, ensuring high standards of food quality, presentation, and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in leading a team of culinary professionals to deliver exceptional food and beverage experiences to our guests.
  • Develop and implement creative menu ideas and dishes to enhance our culinary offerings.
  • Contribute to the profitability of food operations by managing food stock, inventory, and labor costs.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Mentor and train junior team members to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor and report on food safety, health and safety, and other regulatory compliance.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Junior Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to motivate and guide a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety, health and safety, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to train and develop junior team members.
