The Trust offers a wide range of gastroenterology services, including:

  • Comprehensive support for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), nutrition, hepatology, and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) services.
  • Access to all diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including capsule endoscopy and advanced techniques.
  • A specialized Functional Bowel Disorder Service, featuring hypnotherapy and a cutting-edge neurogastroenterology laboratory.
  • Contribution to endoscopy activities and service enhancement across various locations.

This is an exceptional opportunity to engage in the rapid evolution of Endoscopy services throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy utilizing advanced skills as an independent practitioner. Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying the need for additional investigations and providing recommendations as necessary.
  • Offering flexible endoscopy sessions to accommodate unfilled lists.
  • Demonstrating professional leadership and ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care across all endoscopy services.
  • Participating in the unit's Global Rating Scale process and contributing to service development and JAG accreditation.

As a clinical expert, the Gastroenterology Nurse Specialist will serve as a vital resource for the multidisciplinary team, patients, and their families. This role involves managing a patient caseload and influencing care practices within the specialty. The post holder will prioritize the delivery of high-quality, clinically effective care, leveraging research and collaboration with colleagues.
