Mental Health Practitioner Role

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing enhanced management and mental health assessment for individuals who contact 999 with mental health crisis via the Mental Health Response Vehicle (MHRV).

Main Responsibilities
  • Work as part of the Urgent Care Mental Health First Response Service, which includes Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Teams, Liaison Services, Street Triage Services, Liaison and Diversion Services.
  • Provide mental health assessment and management for individuals in crisis, using the Mental Health Response Vehicle (MHRV).
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and support for individuals in crisis.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of current professional staff development and continuous service improvement issues, particularly in the context of ADHD and personality disorder services.

The ideal candidate will have a recognized qualification in mental health, such as RMN, AHP, Psychology, or Social care (AMHPs), and evidence of further professional development involving serious mental illness. A Non-medical Prescribing certificate is also desirable.

This role is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, and a submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) will be required to check for any previous criminal convictions.
