Responsibilities of the Junior Sous Chef:

  • Upholding the highest standards of service, adhering to company philosophy, and embodying the essence of hospitality.
  • Opening and closing the kitchen in accordance with A.O.K Kitchen standards, while following safety, sanitation, and security protocols.
  • Consistently understanding and complying with A.O.K's standard portion sizes, cooking techniques, quality benchmarks, and kitchen policies.
  • Streamlining food preparation by monitoring lead times and ticket times to ensure timely service.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, including line, prep areas, dishwashing stations, and storage spaces.
  • Ensuring ingredient quality by verifying deliveries to confirm freshness and proper storage according to A.O.K's specifications.
  • Collaborating closely with the head chef to analyze customer preferences, propose new dishes, and incorporate seasonal ingredients.
  • Strictly adhering to occupational safety and health administration guidelines for food safety, hygiene practices, and sanitation procedures.
  • Training and supervising any chefs under your direction.
  • Assisting the head chef and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly.
  • Fostering a cooperative and friendly atmosphere within the kitchen team.

Junior Sous Chef Qualifications:

We are looking for an individual with experience in a similar capacity. Additional qualities that should be demonstrated include:

  • Proven experience in a comparable role
  • Ability to remain composed under pressure, demonstrating confidence, calmness, and responsibility.
  • Enthusiasm for the fast-paced restaurant environment and readiness to fulfill required duties.
  • Flexibility in scheduling for weekends, holidays, and/or split shifts as needed.
  • A cooperative and empathetic attitude towards all team members.
