About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Environmental Health Officer to join our team at RGB Recruitment on a temporary basis. As an Environmental Health Officer, you will play a crucial role in providing a regulatory service and carrying out statutory duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Environmental Health Manager in providing a regulatory service and carrying out statutory duties.
  2. Investigate complaints relating to commercial premises.
  3. Collect evidence associated with contraventions for use in court proceedings.
  4. Oversee works being conducted as a result of legal action.
  5. Administer various schemes within commercial premises.
  6. Undertake any duties assigned by the Principal Environmental Health Officer / Environmental Health and Licensing Manager.
  7. Carry out research, monitoring, and provision of information and statistics as required.

Requirements:

  1. Hold a BSc/Diploma in Environmental Health and EHRB Certificate of Registration.
  2. Have solid experience in producing clear and accurate reports, including problem-solving solutions.
  3. Good level of experience in dealing with complaints/enquiries from members of the public.
  4. Hold a full driving licence.
  5. Be able to work independently or as part of a team.
  6. Have experience working within Environmental Health Services or the work covered by the post (e.g., noise/pollution/contaminated land).
  7. Have a good understanding of PACE, CPIA, RIPA, and other Acts associated with investigations.
  8. Be prepared to work out of hours on a monthly basis.

Working Arrangements:

This is a temporary position, working Monday to Friday, between 9 am and 5 pm.
