Job Title: Quantity Surveyor/Cost Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor/Cost Manager to join our team at Turner & Townsend. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for managing the commercial and cost aspects of high-profile aviation projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the commercial and cost activities of sub-programmes, ensuring the appropriateness and viability of contract commercial information.
  • Support the procurement process to achieve best value by developing optimum delivery strategies and contract awards.
  • Provide advice on supplier selection, ensuring sound decision-making.
  • Manage post-contract commercial activities, including contract changes, red files, and award fees recommendations.
  • Support contractors in maintaining transparency and data integrity to minimize risks of inaccurate information.
  • Manage potential liability through timely response to contractor notifications.
  • Recommend applications for payment and proactively manage contractual issues to resolution.
  • Evaluate cost impacts of alternate delivery strategies, including benchmark assessments.
  • Support and guide the Cost & Commercial team as required.
  • Manage contract close-out activities in line with client contractual requirements.
  • Support and encourage the development of appropriate sub-programme working practices.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding and experience of tendering support, procurement support, target price negotiation, and commercial management in an NEC environment.
  • Previous airport experience is an advantage.
