Consultant in Medical Oncology with Special Interest in Lung Cancer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Oncology Consultant to join our team at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. As a Consultant in Medical Oncology with a special interest in Lung Cancer, you will be responsible for providing expert care to patients with lung cancer and other related conditions.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Medical Oncology and a proven track record of delivering high-quality patient care. You will be expected to work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans, conduct research, and participate in education and training programs.

The role will involve a combination of clinical work, research, and teaching, and you will be expected to contribute to the development of our Oncology service. You will also have the opportunity to participate in research projects and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes.

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and has a strong commitment to research and education. If you are a motivated and experienced Medical Oncology Consultant looking for a new challenge, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert care to patients with lung cancer and other related conditions
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Conduct research and participate in education and training programs
  • Contribute to the development of our Oncology service
  • Participate in research projects and collaborate with other healthcare professionals
Requirements:
  • Fully registered with GMC with a licence to practice
  • Entry on the GMC Medical Oncology Specialist Register, CCT (or within 6 months at interview), Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR), Portfolio Programme, or GMC recognised equivalent training
  • MRCP or equivalent
  • BSc
  • MD or PhD
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Evidence of expertise in the areas of special interest relevant to the Job Plan
  • Breadth of experience in and outside of speciality
  • Evidence of clinical or research fellowship
