We are currently in search of a Senior Client Accountant. This position is chiefly accountable for managing the financial aspects of our clients' tours within the agency. The responsibilities of this role encompass, but are not limited to, ensuring the precision of all settlement details (compensation, withholding tax, deductions) and serving as the intermediary between our agents, clients, and clients' business managers to guarantee that all tours are settled promptly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly verify settlement details for all shows/tours and confirm that the artist received full compensation for the show/tour – through funds allocated to the agency, funds directed to the artist, or a combination of both, and process any necessary refunds due to cancellations.
  • Validate and document applicable deductions and/or withholding tax that occurred at the source.
  • Evaluate and compute Wasserman Music's obligation to withhold non-resident withholding tax.
  • Review and chargeback any expenses where necessary.
  • Prepare and manage tour statements from inception to completion – Send initial drafts for approval and follow up on subsequent reviews/changes from the artist's management team. Resolve any discrepancies to ensure that Wasserman Music and clients' records are aligned. Submit statements to clients and collect funds owed to Wasserman Music.
  • Conduct financial analysis for all artist advances and/or loan requests and oversee the distribution and repayment of approved advances/loans.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to junior staff members.
  • Assist in identifying and categorizing funds as required.
  • Maintain the utmost degree of confidentiality regarding artists' financial matters.
  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience in live events/touring is advantageous.
  • A degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience is required.
  • Exceptional communication skills (oral, interpersonal, and written).
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and proactively anticipate potential issues, determining appropriate next steps swiftly.
  • Meticulous attention to detail is essential.
  • Must be capable of performing tasks efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
