We are seeking a qualified teacher to join our team at a specialist provision in Exmouth. The successful candidate will have experience in supporting young people with complex learning needs and a passion for delivering a specialist curriculum.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the experiential learning of a class of 5 students, aged 16-19, who are deaf and have accompanying complex needs.
- Work collaboratively with support staff to provide outstanding support to the students.
- Gradually take increasing responsibility for the class, once familiar with the learners and their day-to-day routines.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that prepares students for adulthood and life beyond education.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) at Secondary Level or experience as a post-16 teacher working closely with students with complex needs.
- BSL qualification is desirable but not essential; our school would support this training.
- Confidence in leading and managing a small team of support staff.
- Great interpersonal skills and excellent decision-making abilities.
- Proactive, resilient, and passionate about making a difference.
- A willingness to learn and develop.
- Ongoing role with immediate start.
- Monday-Friday, 9am-3:30pm, term time only.
- Support and guidance throughout the clearance and onboarding process.
