Job Title: Field Service Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team at Minstrell Recruitment Ltd. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for visiting maintenance contracts, supporting our resident site teams, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Electrical strip-down and re-assembly, field wiring, machine calibration, and system testing
  • Working against a timeframe to complete reactive repairs
  • Interacting with on-site management to keep them informed of repair and maintenance progression
  • Showing hands-on ownership of issues to achieve quick time resolution
  • Ability to interpret and redesign electrical circuit diagrams
  • Appreciating Health & Safety considerations and carrying out risk assessments
  • Mechanical aptitude, including reading assembly drawings
  • Working knowledge of S7 and S5 Siemens PLC, soft-start and variable speed invertors, pneumatic circuits, and distributed I/O systems
Requirements:
  • Minimum qualification NVQ level 3 or equivalent (BTEC/City & Guilds)
  • Proven experience of dealing with electro-mechanical/PLC/hardware faults and preventative maintenance operations
  • PLC knowledge, ability to read electrical drawings, and practical working knowledge of physics
  • Computer literate with basic Microsoft Office skills, ability to learn skills quickly, and attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service skills, superior communications skills, and a strong team player
