Partnership Tax Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Partnership Tax Accountant to join our finance team at Hays Senior Finance. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing tax services to our business owners and ensuring compliance with UK tax laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partnership Tax Compliance:
    • Prepare and review partnership tax returns, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    • Assist in the preparation of tax computations, reserves, and payment schedules.
    • Manage control schedules to ensure completeness of population for whom personal tax returns are required.
    • File personal tax returns and provide partners with submission reports.
    • Prepare annual PSA submissions and arrange for PSA tax payments.
    • Build strong relationships with partners, providing tax planning and consulting services as required.
    • Advise on tax implications of business decisions.
    • Provide advice and support on tax implications of leaving and joining the LLP.
    • Promptly register partners as self-employed for National Insurance and ITSA purposes.
    • Prepare banking instructions and supporting schedules for payments.
  • Other Tax Related Support:
    • Assist with tax-related ad hoc projects as required.
    • Review and prepare capital allowances, working with external advisors as needed.
    • Identify and manage tax risks, ensuring the firm and its partners are aware of their tax obligations.
    • Analyse income and expenditure to assist in the preparation of the firm's business tax computation.
    • Provide ad hoc cover for the Partnership Tax Consultant role and support at less busy points in the personal/business tax compliance cycle.
    • Support the firm in developing its tax governance and controls processes and documentation.
    • Prepare regular reports for senior management on key tasks in the tax year cycle.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of UK tax laws and regulations, particularly those relating to LLPs.
  • A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent) is required.
