Job Description

The Grants Officer is a vital member of The Island N1 York's team, responsible for leading the charity's fundraising efforts. This role plays a crucial part in securing essential funding to support the organization's vital services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of trusts, foundations, corporates, and major donors to identify potential funding opportunities.
  • Integrate the use of the database across the charity to ensure effective communication and stewardship of supporter relationships.
  • Provide exceptional stewardship to current trust, foundation, and grant supporters, ensuring timely reporting and developing strong, long-term funding relationships.
  • Develop compelling cases measuring impact for support and submit funding applications to trusts, foundations, and grant giving bodies.
Personal Development and Training
  • Attend regular clinical supervision and training sessions to enhance fundraising skills.
  • Undertake training and development as agreed with the line manager to stay up-to-date with industry best practices.
Requirements
  • Proven track record of fundraising success from diverse funding sources, including trusts, community events, and statutory fundraising.
  • Working knowledge of donor and supporter contact management, including CRM or donor database systems.
  • Strong financial management and budgetary control skills.
  • Ability to monitor and evaluate outputs and outcomes.
Qualifications and Training
  • Diversity and equalities training.

  • Working knowledge of IT, including key social media platforms, CRM/contact databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.
