About the Role

We are currently partnering with an outstanding, rapidly expanding special school in Tiverton seeking a highly motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their dedicated team. With the addition of two new nurture classes for Year 7 students, this close-knit and hardworking 'learning family' is eager to welcome a passionate individual who shares their commitment to supporting young learners.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to students with high-functioning autism and/or ADHD, collaborating closely with classroom teachers to enhance their learning experiences.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of tailored core subject interventions designed to foster both personal and academic growth for each student.
  • Lead engaging lessons during planned teacher absence (PPA cover), delivering pre-prepared curriculum content effectively.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for working with young people, particularly those with additional educational needs.
  • Possess a proactive and resilient approach, embracing new challenges with enthusiasm and determination.
  • Exhibit strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude, contributing to a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
  • Excel at building rapport and fostering positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and carers.
  • Hold previous experience in an educational setting and possess a recognized HLTA qualification.

Working Hours

8:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, during school term time only.
