North Lakes Children's Services is a reputable local provider of residential care and education for boys aged -. Our mission is to enhance the resilience, self-esteem, and skills of the young individuals we support.

The position of a Childcare Support Specialist demands dedication, passion, and compassion. You will serve as a positive role model in the lives of the youth we assist, providing support, guidance, and inspiration. Establishing strong relationships and creating positive experiences for the youth is fundamental to this role.

We are seeking committed Support Specialists to join our team, who possess a nurturing and empathetic nature and are eager to make a significant impact on the lives of young individuals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitating the daily routines of the boys, including personal hygiene, meals, and recreational activities
  • Assisting in the development of life skills, encouraging social interactions, and supporting bedtime routines
  • Accompanying youth to appointments and engaging in planned activities
  • Completing daily documentation and maintaining cleanliness of the living environment
  • Fostering relationships with families and coordinating family time interactions

In addition to daily responsibilities, the role also includes serving as a Keyworker, where you will have the opportunity to create meaningful moments and strong connections with the youth.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Flexibility in availability and a willingness to work varied shifts
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by young individuals in care
  • Relevant qualification in Health & Social Care or equivalent (or a commitment to obtain)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check
  • Experience in related fields such as Social Work or Youth Work is beneficial
