About the Role

The Northern Lighthouse Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Civil Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our senior management team, you will be responsible for providing technical oversight and leadership in the management of all NLB lights, buildings, masts, and berths.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and implement planned and unplanned maintenance and renewal programs for NLB's infrastructure
  • Develop and maintain civil competency and training specifications
  • Monitor and implement new technologies relevant to civil engineering
  • Approve designs and quality of civil work
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategic plans
Requirements
  • Chartered Civil Engineer with knowledge of current building standards, conservation, and associated legislation
  • Significant experience in civil engineering management and achievement
  • Experience in historic building conservation, marine structures, and intertidal zone works
  • Working knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation, quality, and processes
  • Ability to negotiate and communicate at a senior management level
