Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Systems Small Works Engineer to join our team at Protec Fire Detection PLC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of security systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the Security Administration Team to ensure compliance with work instructions, company policies, and Health and Safety procedures.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of electrical circuits and measuring devices, and undertake training courses as necessary.
  • Install and commission new security systems, as well as additions to existing systems.
  • Ensure accurate and high-quality customer, company, and personal paperwork.
  • Perform other duties commensurate with the role.
Person Specification

Candidates must demonstrate the necessary qualifications, experience, skills, and traits to meet the requirements set below. Requirements for the role will be evidenced on the application form and in the interview process.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • A full electrical-based qualification, such as City & Guilds, ONC, or HNC.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working within the security sector.
  • A working knowledge of electrical circuits and measuring devices.
  • Experience of installing security and associated systems.
  • Familiarity with safe working practices and Health & Safety requirements.
Skills and Abilities

Essential:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Competent using technology, such as laptops, measuring devices, and smart phones.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and submit customer and company paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with staff at varying levels throughout the company.

Desirable:

  • A thorough understanding of relevant British Standards, particularly National Security Inspectorate requirements.
  • A genuine interest in your work, with an enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
  • A full and valid driving licence.
