Role Overview
The Technology Operations team serves as the primary support channel for Starling Bank, assisting both internal staff and external technology partners. We handle all technical inquiries related to our predominantly Apple Mac environment, ensuring the smooth operation of the bank's critical infrastructure while addressing the daily needs of our teams.
In this position, you will gain valuable insights into the bank's core functionalities, collaborating closely with internal teams and key suppliers. We prioritize providing our staff with the best possible technology experience.
Our environment includes both Mac and Windows systems, with a majority of users utilizing Macs, complemented by various SaaS applications. We manage our computers through Jamf and Intune, operating on a Meraki network. We do not maintain physical infrastructure on-site, aside from networking components. Externally, we manage relationships with key suppliers, payment systems, and banking partners, ensuring effective issue resolution.
We empower our customers to manage their finances around the clock. Therefore, we seek individuals who can commit to working hours between 7am-10pm, Monday to Sunday.
As a Technology Operations Analyst, you will be the primary point of contact for technology support for all bank staff, providing hybrid assistance to colleagues and external partners while implementing solutions that enhance technology outcomes.
Your Responsibilities
- Deliver first-line technology support for security issues via various communication channels.
- Conduct onboarding training for new hires, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources.
- Assist in managing asset inventory, procurement, repairs, auditing, and licensing.
- Provision computer hardware from returned stock.
- Coordinate the collection of hardware from departing employees.
- Perform daily checks on office equipment, ensuring all meeting rooms are operational.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Extensive knowledge and experience in supporting Apple Mac environments, including MacOS and Jamf, as well as Windows.
- Prior experience in a first-line support role within a Mac environment.
- Adeptness in navigating a technically complex and rapidly evolving landscape.
- A genuine interest in and understanding of Starling's technology.
- Familiarity with incident management processes is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical issues to non-technical team members.
- Organizational skills, efficiency, and keen attention to detail.
- The ability to collaborate with Workplace Technology and Security teams to implement solutions.
- Contributions to maintaining our knowledge base to empower colleagues in self-service support.
