About the Role

Mace is a leading international consultancy and construction company that delivers complex projects across various sectors, including infrastructure, rail, and property. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team and lead the delivery of high-profile projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Delivery
    • Develop and implement project plans, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
    • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and actual status, ensuring commercial and financial acumen.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and construction, to deliver projects.
  • Team Management and Leadership
    • Lead and manage project teams, including project managers, engineers, and technicians.
    • Develop and implement team management strategies, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
    • Identify and develop talent within the team, promoting career growth and development.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
    • Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.
    • Provide regular project updates, reports, and analysis to stakeholders.
  • Risk Management and Quality Assurance
    • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring the delivery of high-quality projects.
    • Develop and implement quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
    • Conduct regular project reviews, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Business Development and Growth
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, developing and maintaining relationships with clients and stakeholders.
    • Develop and implement business growth strategies, ensuring the expansion of Mace's services and capabilities.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and deliver proposals, tenders, and pitches.
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications
    • Degree in a relevant discipline, such as engineering, construction management, or business administration.
    • Professional certifications, such as RICS, CIOB, APM, or ICE.
  • Experience and Skills
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in the rail or infrastructure sector.
    • Proven track record of delivering complex projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
    • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to develop and implement team management strategies.
    • Excellent commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to manage project budgets and forecasts.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and construction.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate project risks.
