About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Negligence Lawyer to join our team at Thompsons Solicitors. As a leading social justice law firm, we have been fighting for the rights of the injured and mistreated for over 100 years.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a varied multi-track clinical negligence caseload, including complex cases involving serious injuries, amputations, and brain injuries with rehabilitation packages.
  • Progress cases to trial, alternative dispute resolution, and make interlocutory applications.
  • Forecast and bill cases, with a strong track record of recovering costs.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider clinical negligence team to provide advice and support to trade unions, their members, and private clients.
  • Raise the profile of the team, attract new clients, and support business development opportunities.
Requirements
  • Proven track record of running complex clinical negligence cases.
  • Existing and up-to-date knowledge of the law relating to clinical negligence and the civil litigation process.
  • Experience of working with a case management system and proficient IT skills.
  • Excellent prioritization skills, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent communication and client care skills.
  • Ability to construct clear and effective arguments, yielding the best result for clients.
  • Team player with a positive outlook and 'can-do' attitude.
  • Accreditation with the Law Society or AVMA, or other relevant professional memberships.
