Position Overview

At SOJO, our commitment is to promote the appreciation of fashion while ensuring sustainability for both individuals and the environment.

We are dedicated to challenging the norms of ill-fitting garments and subpar quality. Our goal is to establish a new standard for clothing that not only fits impeccably but also endures over time. We aim to conserve resources such as water, carbon, and textiles, while minimizing waste.

ROLE SUMMARY

As a member of our tailoring team within our dedicated studio, you will focus on the alteration and repair of suits, shirts, and other garments. Our clientele engages with us through various channels, including partner retail locations and online services. Due to an increase in demand for specialized suit tailoring, we are seeking additional experts to enhance our team.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Proven experience in suit tailoring
  • Expertise in tailoring a diverse range of garments and fabrics
  • Proficient in operating industrial sewing machines, including overlockers and heavy-duty irons

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

While we do not expect candidates to possess every skill listed, we welcome applicants who have some of the following abilities alongside the core competencies:

  • Understanding of garment fitting, alterations, repairs, resizing, and quality assurance
  • Familiarity with various fabric types, their properties, and garment construction techniques
  • Knowledge of pattern drafting, hand sewing, and garment embellishment
  • Experience in hand finishing techniques, including attaching buttons and labels
  • Customer interaction experience, including pinning and consultations

  • Ability to uphold high standards across all tasks, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and efficient workflows while meeting deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • A passion for problem-solving and collaborating with colleagues to devise effective solutions
  • Willingness to seek clarification when uncertain and to share insights regarding any challenges encountered
