Position Title: Kitchen Operations Supervisor
Department: Kitchen Operations
Reporting To: Kitchen Manager
Objective: To oversee, coordinate, and actively engage in the activities of kitchen staff involved in various culinary tasks throughout the establishment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that operational standards are upheld and all relevant documentation is utilized during shifts.
- Adhere to hygiene and sanitation protocols to guarantee that all areas are maintained daily as required.
- Comply with all legal health and safety regulations and the establishment's Health and Safety Policy.
- Maintain proper care and upkeep of all kitchen equipment and furnishings.
Your Contributions Will Include:
- Reviewing all event documentation to ensure the successful execution of all kitchen responsibilities as outlined.
- Organizing equipment efficiently and ensuring proper setup for seamless kitchen operations during shifts.
- Identifying training needs and facilitating on-the-job training for team members.
- Participating in various kitchen tasks such as dishwashing, waste management, and equipment cleaning as necessary based on staffing and business demands.
- Monitoring and promoting high standards of personal hygiene and appearance among staff, fostering respect and discipline within the team.
- Encouraging high morale and motivation among team members through effective leadership, promoting teamwork and loyalty.
- Ensuring adherence to the establishment's grievance and disciplinary procedures.
- Coordinating the setup of all dining ware for food and beverage services and events.
- Ensuring timely cleaning and removal of operating equipment from various areas.
- Facilitating communication between kitchen operations and all supporting departments.
- Assuring proper shift handover procedures are followed according to established checklists.
Requirements:
Essential:
- 3-4 years of experience in a kitchen supervisory role within the hospitality sector.
- A genuine passion for and understanding of luxury hospitality and the elements required to deliver exceptional service.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to assert control when necessary.
- Resourceful and quick-thinking, capable of resolving issues promptly.
- Able to thrive under pressure in a dynamic environment.
- Collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with industry-related reporting tools.
Desirable:
- Relevant industry certifications.
