Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive work on complex mechanical and electrical installations, plant, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Diagnose and repair faults on mechanical and electrical installations, plant, and equipment in accordance with current regulations and guidance.
  2. Work on a wide range of hospital mechanical systems, including heating systems, hot and cold water systems, emergency generators, control systems, and electrical motors/drive systems.
  3. Manufacture, assemble, erect, and install new installation work to a recognized standard within an acceptable timescale.
  4. Perform a wide range of work of other trades and carry out repairs, maintain, and efficiently run engineering plant and equipment.
  5. Carry out water system inspections, tests, and maintain records in conjunction with the Trust's Water Management Policy.
  6. Use all relevant test equipment, tools, and equipment and interpret and work from complex engineering drawings and wiring diagrams and specifications.
  7. Plan and manage the working day based on work orders issued by the Supervisor.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in mechanical engineering and electrical systems, with experience in working on complex installations and equipment. You will also need to have excellent problem-solving skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong attention to detail.
