Consultant Pathologist: Histology - East London

Job Summary:

Ampath Laboratories is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Pathologist to join our team in East London. As a key member of our histology department, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic anatomical pathology services to referring clinicians and assisting in the management and supervision of our laboratories.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide expert diagnostic services to clients, including advising on life-threatening results.
  2. Develop and implement continuous education programs for pathology laboratories.
  3. Maintain strong client relationships to promote the image of Ampath Laboratories.
  4. Oversee the standard of work performed, overall operation, and administration in the laboratory.
  5. Promote professional standards and expertise within the department.
  6. Provide continuous pathology and clinical laboratory services, including consultation with doctors.
  7. Control and monitor results, verify results, and report findings.
  8. Participate in peer groups and sign-out abnormal results according to established criteria.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in pathology, including a FC Path(SA) qualification, HPCSA registration in the relevant register and practice field, and an MBChB and M Med (Pathology) degree.
