Job Title: Locum Consultant Pathologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant Pathologist to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in providing a high-quality pathology service to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and provide a high-quality pathology service, working closely with other consultant staff.
  • Responsible for covering colleagues' periods of annual leave and short-term sickness.
  • Provide clinical supervision of junior medical staff, as a shared responsibility with other consultant colleagues.
  • Contribute to departmental research interests, in accordance with the Trust's R&D framework.
  • Take an active role in the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of the department's Business Plan.
Requirements:
  • Full and specialist registration (and a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Applicants that are UK trained, must ALSO be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
  • Applicants that are non-UK trained, will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Other higher degree or diploma (e.g., MD, PhD).
Personal Qualities:
  • Effective communicator, able to work in a close-knit team and co-operate with all medical and paramedical staff.
  • Flexible, able to cover colleagues' absence.
  • Familiarity with information technology and general computer skills.
