Job Title: Youth Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Support Worker to join our team in the Barry area. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with young people who have experienced homelessness, providing them with the support and guidance they need to achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assessments of support needs for young people experiencing homelessness
  • Carry out risk assessments and develop support plans
  • Work with young people to agree and record their support needs
  • Ensure meaningful use of time for all parties
  • Coordinate support as the Key-Worker and youth support worker
  • Liaise with other support providers and partner organisations
  • Help young people access volunteering, training, education, and other activities
  • Provide tenancy and housing-related support and advice
  • Travel to meet with young people living independently
What We Offer:

  • A permanent contract as a Youth Support Worker
  • A salary of £23,982 per year, equivalent to £13.14 per hour

Requirements:
  • Experience of working with young people with support needs
  • Knowledge of tenancy support
  • Experience of supporting those who have experienced homelessness
  • Access to a vehicle for day-to-day travel around the patch
  • A willingness to assist with the on-call rota
  • A good understanding of trauma-informed practice and supporting those who have been through trauma
  • A caring and compassionate nature
  • Resilience in the face of a challenge
  • Knowledge of the Barry/Vale of Glamorgan area
