Job Title: Youth Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Support Worker to join our team at Moxie People. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting young people experiencing homelessness in the Barry and Vale of Glamorgan area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of support needs for young people experiencing homelessness.
  • Carry out risk assessments to ensure the safety and well-being of our clients.
  • Work collaboratively with young people to agree and record their support needs.
  • Ensure effective use of time for all parties involved.
  • Coordinate support as the Key-Worker and youth support worker.
  • Liaise with other support providers and partner organizations to ensure a comprehensive support network.
  • Help young people access volunteering, training, education, and other activities to promote their personal growth and development.
  • Provide tenancy and housing-related support and advice to our clients.
  • Travel to meet with young people living independently in the local area.
What We Offer:
  • A 35-hour work week for full-time employees.
  • A permanent contract as a Youth Support Worker.
  • A rota system for working hours, including 9am to 4.30pm and 1.30pm to 8pm shifts.
  • A competitive salary of £23,982 per year, equivalent to £13.14 per hour.

Requirements:
  • Experience working with young people with support needs.
  • Knowledge of tenancy support and its application in practice.
  • Experience supporting individuals who have experienced homelessness.
  • Access to a vehicle for traveling to meet with clients in the local area.
  • A willingness to participate in the on-call rota.
  • A good understanding of trauma-informed practice and supporting individuals who have experienced trauma.
  • A caring and compassionate nature.
  • Resilience in the face of challenging situations.
  • Familiarity with the Barry and Vale of Glamorgan area.
