We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Team Lead to join our team at SSE. As a key member of our procurement function, you will play a critical role in leading and developing a team of procurement professionals, while also running your own procurement events from end to end.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the end-to-end procurement events, from sourcing strategy development to contract award, ensuring alignment with business objectives and identifying opportunities to optimise procurement processes and deliver cost savings while mitigating risks.
- Lead, mentor, and support a small team, assisting with mentoring other procurement professionals, guiding their development and performance.
- Act as the primary point of contact for front office performance calls related to procurement, handling routine inquiries and complex issue resolution.
- Champion the company's digital agenda by leading the adoption of new procurement tools, AI, and data-driven approaches to enhance procurement processes.
- Assist the Shared Service Centre Procurement Manager in providing sourcing support to our SSE international partners, within Europe.
- Experience in supervising and developing teams, mentoring and performance management.
- Educated to Bachelor's degree level in Business, Supply Chain Management or significant experience in procurement, supply chain.
- The ability to adapt to changing business needs, drive innovation, and lead initiatives that improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Proficiency in procurement software and digital tools such as Oracle, Jaggaer, and web-hosted systems.
