Wrexham, Wrexham, United Kingdom Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board Full time

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our Portering Services Department, providing essential support within a healthcare environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely and efficient movement of patients and items throughout the facility. This role requires the ability to lift, transfer, and maneuver substantial weights, utilizing mechanical aids as necessary, including but not limited to sack and pallet trucks, powered and manual tugs, and stair climbers.

Our organization offers favorable working conditions, including a generous paid leave entitlement, enhanced compensation for weekend shifts, and the opportunity to enroll in the Superannuation Pension Scheme.

This position is a permanent part-time role, requiring flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Compensation for this role is competitive, with additional pay for Saturday and Sunday shifts.

This position is physically demanding. If you possess the enthusiasm and commitment to contribute positively to our service, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.

Main Responsibilities

The Portering Services team plays a vital role in supporting all hospital operations. The individual in this role will need to adapt to various challenges in the workplace, with workload fluctuations influenced by factors such as environmental conditions and patient volume. Teamwork is essential, as the porter will collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery, responding effectively to requests for patient transport, assisting in emergencies, and managing the collection and distribution of samples and medications.

Additional responsibilities include the timely delivery of meal trolleys, linens, goods, and mail. While many tasks are routine, the dynamic nature of the service requires a flexible approach and the ability to take initiative.

Proficiency in Welsh is desirable for this position; however, applications from both English and Welsh speakers are welcomed.
