Job Summary
The Financial Controller will oversee the day-to-day management of the Finance department, providing reporting and analysis of financial data to support the Financial Director. This role offers opportunities for growth and development, as the Financial Director is part-time, requiring a degree of autonomy.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accurate accounting records and financial systems, ensuring internal controls are robust and transparent.
- Monitor and report on performance against budgets and forecasts, with a focus on Gross Margin analysis and product/customer performance.
- Lead the reporting for the project-based section of the business, ensuring weekly updates on project progress and revenue/cost reporting.
- Review month-end balance sheet reconciliation and control accounts.
- Oversee the monthly processing of payroll and other employee payments.
- Act as systems administrator for the company's accounting system, providing training and ensuring access is granted for information flow.
- Deliver daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial performance reports, communicating meaningful data to relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee the submission and payment of payroll tax returns, ensuring compliance and timeliness.
- Project manage ad hoc projects and tasks.
- Undertake people management activities, including performance management, disciplinary, and grievance processes in collaboration with HR.
- Support the ongoing development of team members, identifying training needs and arranging training.
Requirements
- CIMA Advanced Diploma or part-qualified.
- ACA/ACCA completed or part-qualified.
- MS Excel Advanced.
- Commercial business awareness.
- Experience/knowledge of Power BI reports.
- Effective communication skills, ensuring the Financial Director (remote) is kept updated and relevant information is shared.
- Flexible and a team player, demonstrating high levels of collaborative working.
