We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our partner schools in Margate and support students in their academic, social, and emotional development.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to assist with lesson preparation and delivery, support individual students or small groups with learning activities, and help manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement effective lesson plans.
  • Provide one-on-one assistance to students with special educational needs (SEN) and support their learning and development.
  • Help create a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and motivation.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to ensure the welfare and progress of students.
  • Support teachers in managing classroom behaviour and implementing behaviour management strategies.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children (preferably in an educational setting).
  • A patient, caring, and supportive nature.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach.
  • A willingness to support students with SEN and/or challenging behaviours.

Desirable:

  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or similar).
  • Experience in primary or secondary education.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and practices.
