We are in search of a proficient Logistics Operations Coordinator to manage the activities at our distribution center. In this role, you will be tasked with directing transportation strategies, fulfilling client requirements, and overseeing logistics planners to meet service commitments.

Key Responsibilities of a Logistics Operations Coordinator:

  • Effectively allocate driver and vehicle assets to ensure timely deliveries and adherence to client service agreements.
  • Work in conjunction with the shunting team for efficient loading and unloading processes.
  • Guarantee that service standards are achieved and sustained in collaboration with various departments.
  • Maximize resource utilization while complying with working time regulations and driver hour laws.
  • Schedule transport runs based on shift schedules, available hours, and other relevant factors.
  • Manage equipment according to established protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements for vehicle upkeep and inspections.
  • Examine fleet incidents and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Conduct disciplinary discussions and handle other HR-related responsibilities.
  • Plan and execute risk assessments at the distribution center.
  • Maintain effective communication with drivers regarding their schedules and operational directives.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Facilitate pre-briefing and debriefing sessions for drivers.

Qualifications for a Logistics Operations Coordinator:

  • Understanding of tachograph regulations and driving laws.
  • Prior experience in a management role.
  • Exceptional planning and organizational capabilities.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Background in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) transportation sector.
