About the Role

DP World is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our team in Minworth/Birmingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing operational policies, rules, and goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and adhere to site Health & Safety protocols, ensuring compliance with company objectives.
  • Provide leadership and management direction for local line and staff personnel, aligning with DP World's Strategic Business objectives.
  • Advise and train first-line managers and staff on company policy, including team supervision, customer interface, and interacting with staff representatives.
  • Support the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law and local governing bodies.
  • Actively support lean initiatives, such as 5S, standardized work, and people involvement.
  • Develop and improve operational processes.
  • Effective communication, understanding, and response to all customers and suppliers.
  • Internal/external stakeholder management.
  • Compile data using spreadsheets and produce presentations.
  • Progress tracking and report compilation.
  • Effective delegation of tasks to the team, setting SMART objectives and goals.
  • Ensure order and cleanliness in areas of responsibility.
  • Undertake Disciplinary and Grievance processes, including investigations and Hearings.
  • KPI adherence and continuous improvement.
  • Quality and Control checks.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of experience in leadership roles.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
  • Understanding of advanced business planning.
  • Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics.
  • Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues.
